How To Write Bibliography

Submitted by Stevie on 08/06/2009
The steps below are the standard method used.
Step 1
Prepare an area at the last part of your paper and call it “bibliography”. This will contain all the information you borrowed from other writers.

Step 2
List all the names of the authors whose works you cited. It would be better if yo write them alphabetically.

Step 3
Always write the last name of the author first followed by a comma, a space then the first name. Don’t forget a period after it.

Step 4
In writing the name of the book, don’t forget to italicize it. A period should also follow. Underlining it could also provide better emphasis.

Step 5
Always cite the title of the article enclosed in quotation marks if you’ve taken it from other printed materials other than the books. Write down the title or name of the magazine or journal where the cited articles were taken. Always include the page number as well as the volume number.

Step 6
Include the place where the book, magazine or journal has been published. A colon will follow it.

Step 7
Publishers’ name should also be included, followed by a comma.

Step 8
To conclude a bibliography entry, write down the date of publication with a period at the end.

Step 9
Include your bibliography when inserting page numbers into your paper.
