Tree sap has a goo like texture and quickly sticks to almost any surface including skin, clothing, cars, decking and all sorts of other surfaces. Tree sap, especially pine tree sap appears very difficult and glue like to remove, but actually if you know how, it's not too bad. One of the best products to use to remove it is rubbing alcohol. Alcohol makes a great solvent for dissolving sap, amongst other things. You don't always need to use pure alcohol though, especially is the sap is on your skin you can use one of the many alcohol based sanitizers available in most shops. As an alternative to the alcohol based products you can use nail polish remover, simply run the remover into the affected area, then use normal soap and water to clean the remnants away.
Tree sap can be extremely sticky and unpleasant when it gets in your hair, a great way to get this out is to apply some peanut butter. Peanut butter contains a variety of fine oils that will break the sap down with little fuss. Once you have applied the peanut butter, dry the hair with a warm hair dryer then simply brush or comb the hair through, then wash as normal. You can also use mayonnaise as an alternative to peanut butter.

There are a number of products you can use to remove tree sap, especially the very sticky pine tree sap from your cars bodywork, however extreme caution should be used as some of the product could also break down the glaze surface of the paint, so proceed with care. Nail polish remover on a piece of cotton wool breaks the sap down fast, you can then just wash it away with some hot soapy water. You can also use the popular spray oil WD-40, its very widely available and is mostly very paint friendly, yet still tough on the tree sap.
