How To Relieve Stress

Submitted by Adrian Stark on 08/26/2010

When trying to relive stress that’s built up over time it’s important to get your self in the right mood. We have found having a nice long soak in the bath really helps.
We have used bath oils  that you put in the bath that help relax you with beautiful smells, and also have a smooth silky feeling across your body.

Also if you have candles that helps (even if your a bloke just trust me) but don’t burn the house down.

Now (where you can) try and make sure you are on your own .At least make sure the kids are either out of the house, or at least in another room.
If you can relax when you have screaming kids in the room causing mayhem then fair play to you.
We have found its better in a room that has a door without a window in it, but that just personal preference.

(I know this sounds like some sort of masturbation guide but its not)

Clear everything off you computer table that you don’t need. I mean everything! Go on just push it off the desk on to the floor or into a box and put it behind you. Just leave the bear essentials on the desk like: keyboard, mouse ect.
It has been proven that a clear desk helps with a clear mind.
This is very important when you want to relax.

Music really helps when it comes to winding down; the type is totally down to you.

I'm in my early 40s but still like to listen to some nice classical music when a need to relax.
I find something with piano in it is good, or just instrumental music or even nature can help, like sounds of the seas, of wildlife just in the background.

Now for me this one is very important. Having a nice drink to sip on while at the computer is very relaxing. I like to have a strong drink to sip slowly. Some people like something else, but remember the idea is not to get hammered just a nice little drink to take the edge of the stress. If you don’t drink alcohol don’t start now, just have a nice cup of herbal tea, of whatever takes your fancy.

If you are particular worked up about something specific, you might want to have a rant and let of some steam. There are lots of places like blogs and forums that you can visit. My favorite online place to let off some steam is therantmaster.com you can comment and vent your annoyances on a whole range of everyday topics and even submit you very own rant. A famous advert once said "its good to talk" and thats certainly true, but in todays internet age, you dont need to speak to talk!
