• Finding the right deck of tarot cards – This may require a little of shopping but make sure to choose a deck of cards that captures or attention. You may find there are several interesting decks to choose from! Go to several local stores and even look online until you find the tarot card deck that appeals to you most. • Setting up the deck - once you select the deck of cards that appeals to you, set your deck up by separating the major “Arcana” from the minor. See instructions on which is major and which ones are minor.
• Deck presentation – Shuffle the sets of cards once separated. Then cut the sets and lay them out into three rows going across and seven cards going down. Then set the single card left off to the side. By laying them out this way you will use all the major “Arcana” however leaving the extra minor cards. Make sure to set the rest aside.

• Give the cards a direction - This can be done by simulating where the cards are alluding to in that specific situation in your life or the life of the person your trying to read. Follow the narrated patterns that provide alternative to the ending of the first reading. This could make things better or worse for that specific situation.
• Give the cards meanings - take into consideration words used in the category of cards you previously assigned. Ask yourself how they apply to the story your identifying. Combine these elements together as a form of a tarot card reading.
There’s a chance you’ll be amazed at the accuracy of the readings once you follow these instructions. Always remember there may come a point when a certain card will present a different meaning that what you or the book may suggest, when this happens follow that meaning. This is the way professional tarot card readers operate, by letting the cards speak to them.
Often however you’ll find that the meanings are ambiguous and cloudy. When this happens try to tune in your readings by practicing reverse readings, which is thinking of the meaning of the card first, then trying to figure out which card will represent that meaning.
