How to Prepare a News Release

News releases are short articles written to introduce something to the public in a form of news. This news can help publicize your business and bring much need public attention. In order to write a news/press release you will need to create something newsworthy. Follow the steps below to help you prepare a news release;

Step 1
You must evaluate aspects of your business to see if you have something to be offered to the public which is news-worthy. These releases are not just for marketing sake, but they are actually news clips which need factual contents that will be interesting enough to qualify as news.

Step 2
Create news for your business especially when there has been no news for quiet a long time already. Make the news in such a way that it looks promising to the people who read it, be creative and make sure the title entices people to read.

Step 3
Now, you must set your own goal for the news release you are releasing to the public. Consider things like media coverage or just do some things to make the general public aware of your business.

Step 4
You must know who will summarize the information to be disclosed. Meet with the president or manager together with the copy writer. This will lead to the writing of a better copy, if you are not happy, either use another company, or write it yourself.

Step 5
You may write the summary of the information from the company. If you feel you can’t do it, let the copy writer handle it for you.

Step 6
The last thing you should not forget is to set up contact information needed should someone contact you regarding the news releases. It’s also important to arrange a wide scale distribution across news sites.
