How to Make a Mouse Trap

Mice can really cause damage to your property aside from the annoyances they can bring. They are also very dangerous as they can cause fire by chewing through wires causing electrical problems. In fact, there are several circumstances that have caused homes to be burned because of mice. Aside from that, they also carry diseases as they live near canals and other dirty areas eating a variety of leftovers; they will eat the food on your table without you knowing about it. Therefore, it is a necessity to get rid of them to prevent further problems in the future. You will need to make a mouse trap.

Here are some steps to do to be able to make a mouse trap effectively;

Step 1
You must have the following materials, first and foremost;
•    Utility knife
•    Empty bottle of Soda (2 liters)
•    Wire screen
•    Heavy duty tape
•    Peanut butter

Step 2
Now, cut the top portion of the bottle making it easier to fill with sand.

Step 3
Fill up the bottle about 3 inches of sand or just to make a considerable weight.

Step 4
Attach the top of the bottle upside down and make it firm by taping it with a heavy-duty tape. The purpose of this is to have a funnel which directly goes into the bottle.

Step 5
Wrap the bottle with a rectangular wire screen. The screen must wrap the whole body of the bottle and a little excess at the top to give mice an easy way to climb up.

Step 6
Now, spread the peanut butter into the funnel. Be sure that the hole is not blocked by it. You may spread considerable amount of olive oil into the side of the funnel.

Step 7
Place the trap to some place where mice often play. This will ensure that they can come across the smell of the peanut butter.

Step 8
Leave the trap undisturbed and unmonitored and continue your daily chores. At the end of the day, you may check it to see if it is successful. If you can see some mice behind the plastic bottle, you are successful. If not, then leave it there for another day.
Step 9
You can simply release the victims if you don’t want to take a life of the little animals. But be sure you will drop them off somewhere far from your home.

Step 10
Put the trap to the same place until another victim is caught. In that way, you can eliminate all the mice in your home steadily and humanely.
