Submitted by Ellie L on 02/23/2009

If you are interested in learning how to make a homemade hamburger read on, it’s a quick and easy method you won’t have to be a 5 star chef to make. This recipe can be easily cooked both indoors and on the bbq outside when the weather is good!

You will need:

1 lb. ground beef/steak
6 hamburger buns
1 egg
salt and pepper
burger cheese
1 tomatoe
1 small lettuce
1 small onion

equipment needed:

1 mixing bowl
1 chopping knife
roll of cling film
1 baking sheet
A bbq or grill

1. Add the beef, salt, pepper, and egg into the mixing bowl and using your freshly washed hands mix the ingredients together well

2. Split the mixture into 6 even balls and press them flat down to about 2cm thickness.

3. Cover the baking sheet with some cling film and place the raw burgers on the sheet into the fridge for an hour or so, the burger mixture firms in the cold and helps ensure the burger cooks whole without breaking apart when handled.

4. Remove the burgers from the baking sheet and remove the cling film.

5. For cooking you have options, you can place the burgers on the sheet (without the plastic) into the oven, put them under the grill, or the best way, pop them in your bbq.

6. Whilst they cook, chop a little lettuce, tomato and onion, you can fry the onion a little if you like.

7. Place topping into a bun with some cheese and add in the freshly cooked burger.

8. Congratulations you learned how to make a homemade hamburger, and it will taste great with a little relish!
