Moss adds splendor and life to your garden. Moss is a diminutive kind of plant growing in a matted mass. Some people would consider them as lichens or bogs. Moss can grow inside or outside the house.

It is so easy to grow moss at home. There are different methods used for growing moss. If you want to give a try, refer to these tips on how to grow moss at home.

Step 1:

•    The first thing you would do is choose the proper spot where you can grow moss. A knoll or small hill is recommended. Yet, others would prefer to use containers or statue and have the moss grow inside.

•    In order to survive, moss must be planted in humid, fresh and sheltered areas.

Step 2:

•    You can choose your own preference for your garden; utilize your own skills and creativity in making your moss garden as lovely as you wish.

•    Aside from that, you also need to think about adding helpful substances and elements into your garden such as compost or well-cured manure. They are essential to the growth and nourishment for moss.

Step 3:

•    Plant the moss. You can grow moss on a statue or a pot if you wish to have the old-fashioned mossy look inside or outside your house. If you want to do it this way, then you need to secure a metal brush. Lightly scratch the surface of the statue or pot until it creates small cracks where you can stick in your moss and let them grow inside.

•    To add beauty and art, you may consider painting the slurry on the statue or pot you use. Place them in a cool sheltered corner.

•    Use a hose to mist the moss slurry. Another way to keep the temperature high is by placing the mossy container or statue in a shallow pan and filled it with water. After few weeks the moss will take hold and established well. And there you have it, a beautiful mossy statue at home.
